NITI Aayog Support Sought for Manyam Development
District Collector Dr. N. Prabhakar Reddy has sought the support of NITI Aayog for the accelerated development of Manyam district.
Ayushi Agarwal, an official representative of NITI Aayog, visited the district on Wednesday and met the Collector at the Collectorate. The meeting focused on integrated development initiatives and the district’s long-term vision.
The Collector underscored the significance of implementing the “Village Plan 2047,” which aims to transform villages into self-reliant units by 2047. He emphasised the need to prepare a comprehensive roadmap to ensure growth across sectors in every village.
The discussions also covered measures to strengthen agriculture, horticulture, and allied sectors, keeping in view the district’s geographical conditions. Dr. Reddy stressed the importance of creating sustainable income opportunities for farmers.
Ms. Agarwal highlighted the role of “knowledge partners” in introducing modern technologies and global best practices in agriculture and other service sectors. She observed that expert-driven strategies could bring about substantial changes.
Dr. Reddy also pointed to the need to revise outdated regulations that hinder development and to promote transparent governance, with the goal of positioning Manyam district as a model for the State.
