NTPC Simhadri Partners with CIPET Vijayawada to Launch Skill Development Program for Parwada Youth

NTPC Simhadri has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET), Vijayawada, to launch a skill development training programme for unemployed youth in the Parwada region of Visakhapatnam district.

This initiative, announced as part of NTPC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Community Development efforts, aims to improve employment opportunities by equipping local youth with industry-relevant technical skills in the plastics manufacturing sector.

As per the agreement, three batches of residential training will be conducted during the 2025–26 financial year. Each batch will run for four months and train 30 candidates. The courses offered include:

Machine Operator – Injection Moulding (MO-IM)

Machine Operator – Plastics Processing (MO-PP)

These job-oriented courses focus on hands-on training using modern machinery, with the goal of preparing candidates for immediate employment in the plastics and manufacturing industries.

The training programme is expected to significantly improve the employability of rural youth while also addressing regional unemployment. By creating a pool of skilled workers, the initiative supports long-term socio-economic development in the region and contributes to India’s growing demand for technically trained manpower.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Sameer Sharma, Executive Director and Head of Project, NTPC Simhadri, emphasized the importance of skill development in national progress.

“Skill development is key to nation-building, and NTPC remains committed to helping the youth become industry-ready and self-reliant. Through partnerships like this, we aim to build sustainable livelihoods and empower local communities,” he said.

Senior officials from NTPC’s Human Resources and CSR departments, along with Dr. Ch. Shekar, Joint Director and Head of CIPET Vijayawada, attended the event.

This joint initiative between NTPC Simhadri and CIPET aligns with national missions such as Skill India and Make in India. It reflects both organisations’ commitment to promoting technical education, community development, and sustainable livelihood creation.
