NTPC Simhadri Reaffirms Commitment to Sustainable Village Development
Sameer Sharma, Executive Director and Head of Project at NTPC Simhadri, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to promoting sustainable development in villages surrounding the power project. Speaking at the CSR Stakeholders Meet on Thursday, he highlighted initiatives in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and skill development, aimed at improving living standards and empowering local communities.
“Our goal is to create lasting impact and enable these villages to thrive,” Mr. Sharma said, emphasizing NTPC’s focus on inclusive and participatory growth. He added that all development initiatives are designed to align with community aspirations, creating a model of responsible corporate citizenship.
The CSR Stakeholders Meet brought together community leaders, government officials, and other key stakeholders to review ongoing projects and plan upcoming social development activities in the Anakapalle district. The programme included a welcome address and presentations detailing NTPC Simhadri’s past CSR achievements, along with plans for 2025–26, covering initiatives in renewable energy awareness, water conservation, and youth skill development.
An interactive session allowed local representatives and government officials to provide feedback, ensuring projects address community priorities and challenges in villages affected by the project.
The event saw participation from senior NTPC officials, Sarpanches of affected villages, and representatives from government departments, including MPDO Parawada, MEO, RWS&S, PRI, as well as medical officers from PHCs and principals of junior colleges. The collaboration highlighted the importance of coordinated efforts between the company, government agencies, and the local community.
The CSR Stakeholders Meet reinforced NTPC Simhadri’s vision of participatory and inclusive development, demonstrating the company’s ongoing commitment to long-term social welfare and sustainable growth in the region.
