Pawan Kalyan Urges Youth to Unite and Innovate at AU Centenary
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan on Wednesday urged young people to rise above community divisions and adopt a unified national vision to drive the country’s progress.
Speaking as the chief guest at the valedictory ceremony of the three-day ‘Mega Cultural Fest-2026’, held as part of Andhra University’s centenary celebrations, Mr. Pawan Kalyan expressed his deep connection with the campus and its students.
Recalling the academic journey of his close friend, acclaimed filmmaker Trivikram Srinivas, a former M.Sc. Nuclear Physics student at AU, he highlighted the extraordinary potential of the younger generation, emphasizing the need for a focused, purpose-driven mindset to fully realize it.
He encouraged students to explore the future of energy, stressing the importance of scientific innovation in shaping progress. “My only wish is for you to be responsible students who serve your parents, society, and the nation,” he said.
Mr. Pawan Kalyan also noted that addressing a student audience is more challenging than confronting an “anarchic government.” He added that he speaks to students straight from the heart, rather than relying on intellectual strategies.
The centenary celebrations concluded with the Deputy Chief Minister presenting awards to winners of competitions held over the past three days. The festival showcased a mix of traditional art forms, including Dhimsa and Kolatam, alongside contemporary performances, highlighting the diverse talent of AU and its affiliated colleges.
Earlier in the day, festivities began with a morning walkathon from the AU Convention Centre, drawing participation from students, faculty, and alumni. The event was presided over by AU Vice-Chancellor Prof. G.P. Raja Sekhar, who paid tribute to the university’s 100-year legacy.
