QR-Based Kiosks Launched for Darshan Tickets at Simhachalam

In a bid to streamline pilgrim services and reduce waiting time for darshan tickets, the Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Devasthanam has introduced self-service kiosks that allow devotees to obtain tickets within seconds.

Temple authorities said devotees often spend hours waiting in queues at ticket counters, particularly on peak days. The newly installed kiosks enable pilgrims to generate darshan tickets by simply scanning a QR code at the machines, significantly cutting down waiting time.

The kiosks were donated by Karur Vysya Bank as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. Officials described the system as an important step towards integrating digital technology into temple administration to ensure a smoother and faster experience for devotees.

Given the heavy footfall at the temple, kiosk centres have been set up at the hilltop bus stand and the PRO office premises so that pilgrims can easily access the facility upon arrival.

Executive Officer J. Venkata Rao said the temple administration aims to use technology to make the darshan process more convenient. “Our objective is to provide devotees with a stress-free and peaceful darshan experience. This facility will save considerable time for pilgrims, and we are also exploring the possibility of introducing Arjitha Sevas through this system in the future,” he said.

According to officials, eight kiosks have been allotted to the temple under the initiative. Three are already operational, while the remaining units will be installed at other high-footfall locations on the temple premises shortly.

At present, devotees can obtain Rs 100 and Rs 300 darshan tickets through the kiosks. Temple authorities believe the system will help reduce congestion at ticket counters and improve the overall pilgrimage experience for the thousands of devotees visiting the shrine every day.
