Rain, Lightning Likely in Parts of AP
The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) has forecast varied weather conditions across Andhra Pradesh over the next three days, with rising temperatures in several areas and cloudy skies accompanied by light rain in others.
According to APSDMA officials, the change in weather is being caused by the influence of a trough combined with southwesterly winds over the region. Due to this system, light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning is expected in parts of Srikakulam district, Vizianagaram district, and Parvathipuram Manyam district on Monday.
Light rain with lightning is also likely at isolated places in Alluri Sitharama Raju district, Polavaram region, Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli district, Kakinada district, Konaseema district, East Godavari district, West Godavari district, Eluru district, Krishna district, NTR district, Guntur district, Kurnool district, Nandyal district, Anantapur district, and Sri Sathya Sai district.
Officials said that while some coastal and northern districts may receive brief spells of rain, temperatures are expected to remain high in several interior parts of the State during the daytime.
The authority issued an advisory asking people to remain alert to the possibility of sudden lightning strikes. Residents have been advised to avoid standing in open areas during thunderstorms and not to take shelter under trees or near electric poles during lightning activity.
APSDMA also urged farmers and those working outdoors to stay updated with weather alerts and take necessary precautions to avoid accidents during thunderstorms.
