RERA Chairman Urges Builders to Follow Rules, Promises Timely Approvals
Andhra Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) chairman Are Siva Reddy on Wednesday urged all builders to undertake residential, commercial, and other real estate projects only after obtaining the necessary permissions from RERA and following the established norms. Speaking at a RERA awareness programme in Vizianagaram, he said that following the rules benefits both builders and buyers.
Mr. Siva Reddy assured the real estate community that all applications and project files submitted to RERA would be processed within the set time frame. He added that builders who comply with norms and submit the required documents on time would not face fines.
Highlighting the need for transparency, Mr. Siva Reddy, a former State president of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Association of India (CREDAI), said he is committed to supporting the growth and orderly development of Andhra Pradesh’s real estate market. He said RERA aims to create a fair system that ensures projects are completed on time and protects buyers’ interests.
CREDAI member U.S.L.N. Kameswara Rao welcomed the move. He said RERA helps build confidence among homebuyers and investors while encouraging builders to maintain high standards in compliance, planning, and documentation.
The programme also saw active participation from local builders and developers, who engaged with RERA officials to clarify the application process and compliance requirements. The initiative is part of RERA’s broader effort to make Andhra Pradesh’s real estate sector transparent, accountable, and well-regulated.
