Sanjeevani Project Aims to Modernise Public Healthcare: CM

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has announced the launch of the Sanjeevani Project, a technology-driven public healthcare initiative designed to improve access to quality medical services, particularly in underserved areas.

Addressing a public meeting at Praja Vedika in Thulasinayanapalle village of Shantipuram mandal, the Chief Minister said the project had already been piloted in Kuppam and would be rolled out across Andhra Pradesh in 2026 after evaluating the initial results. He described the initiative as a step towards modernising healthcare delivery and ensuring that essential medical services reach people in a timely and efficient manner.

Under the Sanjeevani Project, patients will be able to book doctor appointments through mobile phones, reducing the need for long waits at hospitals and primary health centres. The system is intended to streamline consultations, minimise delays, and ensure more consistent standards of care. Digital tools will also help maintain patient records, enabling better follow-up and continuity of treatment.

Mr. Naidu said the programme would go beyond curative services and place strong emphasis on public awareness and preventive healthcare. Campaigns focusing on early detection of diseases, lifestyle changes, and community health education are expected to form a key part of the initiative. The objective, he said, is to reduce the overall disease burden and lower long-term healthcare costs for families.

Officials indicated that the project would integrate technology platforms with existing government health infrastructure, including primary health centres and district hospitals. Healthcare workers are likely to receive training to effectively use digital systems and support patients in accessing services through mobile-based applications.

The Chief Minister said the broader goal of the Sanjeevani Project was to build a responsive, people-centric healthcare system that combines technology with grassroots service delivery, ensuring that quality medical care becomes more accessible across the State.
