SmartIDEAthon 2025: Turn Ideas into Impact

GITAM Deemed to be University’s Venture Development Center (VDC) has officially announced SmartIDEAthon 2025, a national-level innovation challenge running from November 11 to December 12, 2025. In its sixth edition, this competition invites students from across India to showcase entrepreneurial ideas that focus on innovation, sustainability, and social impact.

This year, GITAM has partnered with prominent organizations including Startup India, Invest India, Northeastern University’s NUCEE, and Balavikas of Fairfax, USA. Participants will enjoy numerous benefits, including mentorship, venture boot camps, and networking opportunities with successful entrepreneurs, startup founders, and investors. These resources will empower students to turn their innovative ideas into scalable business ventures.

The competition offers impressive prizes. The top winner will receive INR 2 lakh in cash, along with a fully sponsored two-week trip to Boston for two participants. They will also gain access to Northeastern University’s NU-IDEA Ready-Set-Go Venture Development Program and personalized coaching. The runner-up will take home INR 1 lakh and enjoy a partly sponsored trip to Boston, along with similar support. Additionally, special awards will recognize outstanding projects with social impact, women-led startups, and audience favorites.

Students should note that submissions for SmartIDEAthon 2025 will close on November 11, 2025. The first selection round will occur shortly after, on November 15, followed by a boot camp for shortlisted teams on November 16. Semi-finalists and finalists will earn certificates co-issued by GITAM University and NUCEE, marking their achievements in this competitive arena.
