Superintendent of Police (SP) KV Maheswara Reddy called for immediate attention to unsolved serious cases, particularly those involving women. Speaking at a crime review meeting with senior officers on Saturday, he stressed the need for faster investigations and resolution of pending cases.
The SP highlighted key priorities, including women’s safety, child protection, and tackling crimes like eve-teasing, harassment, POCSO cases, and child marriages. He urged officers to expedite investigations under the Nari Shakti program, ensuring timely charge sheets.
Special focus was given to marijuana trafficking. The SP emphasized the need for ongoing surveillance of suspects and frequent vehicle inspections to curb illegal activities. Officers were also directed to confiscate driving licenses from those caught driving under the influence, with stricter enforcement measures in place.
The SP called for heightened vigilance during night patrols, particularly for habitual offenders. In property-related cases, he urged officers to promptly file charge sheets for cases where suspects are already in custody.
He also directed officers to prioritize complaints submitted through the public grievance program, ensuring thorough investigations and swift justice for victims. To clear long-pending cases, a comprehensive review of ongoing investigations was ordered.
The SP emphasized the importance of improving police accessibility to the public. Regular police-community interactions and awareness programs in rural areas will continue to be a priority. He encouraged officers to visit villages regularly to engage with the community and identify potential troublemakers.
Officers were reminded to stay vigilant at border check posts, particularly for vehicles with false number plates. The meeting was attended by Additional SPs KV Ramana and P. Srinivasa Rao, DSPs Vivekananda and Lakshmana Rao, AO Gopinath, SB CI Emmanuel Raju, and other district officers.
