SP Urges Youth to “Say Yes to Life, No to Drugs”
Anakapalli District Superintendent of Police Tuhin Sinha on Saturday warned students that drug use, even for a brief thrill, can ultimately destroy lives. Speaking at the “Drug‑Free Tomorrow – Awareness and Education Expo,” organized by the Anakapalli District Police in partnership with the Parawada Police Sub‑division, Mr. Sinha encouraged youth to report any drug-related information to helplines 112 or 1972 and later led an anti-drug pledge with the crowd.
The expo, held at the Parawada Sub‑division premises, attracted more than 500 students and about 100 teachers from 64 schools and colleges across Parawada, Achyutapuram, Yelamanchili, Rambilli, Munagapaka, and Sabbavaram mandals. Participants showcased over 150 models bearing strong anti‑drug messages, and two student skits dramatised the health, financial, family and social fallout of addiction.
Mr Sinha toured each stall, praising the students’ awareness and confidence in speaking out against substance abuse. “Their commitment to staying away from drugs reflects the impact of sustained awareness programmes conducted by the district police,” he said.
Lotus English Medium School, Rampalli, was honoured with the first prize for its exhibit, and certificates were presented to other outstanding entries. The event was supervised by Parawada Deputy Superintendent of Police Vishnu Swaroop, coordinated by Parawada Circle Inspector R. Mallikarjuna Rao, and supported by police personnel from neighbouring mandals. Representatives of the State Anti‑Drug Organisation EAGLE briefed attendees on statewide eradication initiatives.
Officials described the expo as a significant step toward strengthening anti‑drug awareness in Anakapalli district, emphasizing that continued community involvement is essential to curb narcotic abuse among the youth.
