SP Vows Crackdown on LWE and Ganja in Alluri Sitharama Raju District
Alluri Sitharama Raju District is aiming for a complete crackdown on Left Wing Extremism (LWE) and illegal ganja cultivation, Superintendent of Police Amit Bardar said on Tuesday. Speaking at a comprehensive crime review meeting, Bardar said the goal would be achieved through coordinated efforts and robust security measures.
The meeting brought together all DSPs, CIs, SHOs, and headquarters staff to review crime trends, including offences against women and children, cybercrime, thefts, illicit liquor production, and ganja cultivation and transport. Officers were briefed on the functioning of the CCTNS system and given instructions to improve operational efficiency.
SP Bardar stressed strict verification of migrant workers and warned of tough legal action against anyone involved in ganja-related crimes, including those offering shelter or support. He called for regular village visits to strengthen community trust and intensified Cordon and Search Operations in sensitive areas to prevent illegal activities.
He also urged officers to speed up investigations, file charge sheets promptly, mediate tribal disputes, counsel habitual offenders, and handle cases involving women with care. Officers were reminded to perform their duties with integrity and impartiality, showing no leniency toward anti-social activities. All DSPs, CIs, and SHOs attended the meeting.
