TCS to Launch Rushikonda IT Hills Campus, Rs 1,300 Crore Investment to Generate 12,000 Jobs
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is gearing up to start operations at IT Hills in Rushikonda, with its temporary campus at Millennium Towers almost ready. Signboards are now visible on Blocks 16 and 17 of Hill No. 3, signaling the upcoming launch.
The Andhra Pradesh government allocated 22 acres to TCS for a permanent campus at Hill No. 3 after discussions between Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Tata Sons chairman N. Chandrasekaran, and IT Minister Nara Lokesh. The permanent campus, scheduled for completion by 2027, will eventually accommodate the full workforce.
TCS is expected to begin operations in the last week of September or the first week of October. The first phase will host around 2,000 employees, with plans to expand to 6,000 over the coming years. Preparations are reportedly over 70% complete.
The project involves a Rs 1,300 crore investment, expected to create around 12,000 jobs. Initially, TCS will operate from 2.08 lakh sq. ft. of office space at Millennium Towers. This marks the first IT company to start operations under an MoU signed with the NDA government, setting a precedent for further IT growth in Visakhapatnam.
Cognizant plans to establish a presence in the city, initially from a temporary site before moving to a permanent campus. Wipro and other IT companies have also announced expansion plans in Andhra Pradesh, IT Minister Nara Lokesh confirmed.
