TDP condemns Ambati Rambabu remarks against N. Chandrababu Naidu

The Andhra Pradesh unit of the Telugu Desam Party on Saturday condemned remarks made by Ambati Rambabu against party president and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, calling them objectionable and outside democratic norms.

Speaking to the media, TDP State president and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao said political debate must focus on policies and performance. Instead, he noted, the remarks turned into personal attacks. He added that such comments diminish the quality of public discourse.

Moreover, Mr. Rao said the language used showed poor political judgment. He stressed that leaders carry public responsibility. Therefore, he urged political opponents to maintain basic decorum while expressing criticism.

He also argued that repeated use of harsh language damages democratic culture. According to him, the latest remarks went beyond politics and hurt the self-respect of Telugu people. In his view, criticism should stay issue-based and constructive.

Further, Mr. Rao said many citizens connect Mr. Naidu’s leadership with the State’s growth. So, he warned, personal attacks on the Chief Minister offend public sentiment. The party, he added, will not stay silent on the matter.

Finally, Mr. Rao demanded that Mr. Rambabu withdraw his comments at once and issue an unconditional public apology. Until that happens, he said, the TDP will continue to raise the issue both politically and publicly.
