‘The Great Vizag Shopping Festival’ to be held from October 16 to 19
The district administration of Visakhapatnam will organise the Great Vizag Shopping Festival – 2025 from October 16 to 19 at the Andhra University Engineering College Grounds.
The event is being conducted under the ‘Super GST – Super Savings’ initiative launched by the Government of Andhra Pradesh as part of its ongoing GST reforms.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, District Collector and Magistrate M.N. Harendhira Prasad said the programme, which is being held across the State from September 22 to October 19, aims to promote trade, rationalise tax rates, and encourage public participation in the formal economy.
“The festival will not only boost local commerce but also celebrate the cultural and entrepreneurial spirit of Visakhapatnam,” Mr. Prasad said.
The four-day festival will feature a total of 66 stalls representing various sectors, including 19 automobile stalls, 11 electronics and furniture stalls, three food and beverages stalls, 25 Self-Help Group (SHG) stalls, and six miscellaneous stalls.
In addition to commercial exhibits, cultural programmes showcasing the rich art, dance, and music traditions of Andhra Pradesh will be organised.
“We have planned several cultural and entertainment activities to make it a family-friendly event,” the Collector added.
To encourage public participation, lucky dip competitions with attractive prizes will be conducted for visitors. Adequate facilities, including parking spaces and food courts, will also be provided.
The Great Vizag Shopping Festival – 2025 aims to promote local businesses and SHGs, raise awareness about the benefits of GST and digital transactions, and strengthen the link between government initiatives and the public.
The festival will be open to visitors from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day.
