Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal on Saturday inaugurated 3i MedTech at the Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ), a 270-acre hub set to transform diagnostic imaging with precision-focused, patient-centric technologies.
AMTZ, which houses over 150 companies engaged in the research, development, and manufacturing of medical devices, reflects India’s growing emphasis on healthcare innovation.
During the visit, Goyal also inaugurated Innovation Imaging Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (IITPL) at AMTZ, which has launched a new catheterization laboratory production facility. Dr. Sharma, MD and Founder-CEO of AMTZ, said the park aims to translate scientific research into market-ready products that can improve healthcare outcomes nationally and globally.
AMTZ produces a wide range of medical devices, from protective masks to MRI machines, and is unique in hosting a World Health Organization center alongside the World Trade Center.
The visit also saw the signing of multiple MoUs to strengthen collaboration between industry and academia, including partnerships involving the Artificial Limb Centre and the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities, AMTZ, and the National Corridor for Industrial Development Corporation, and AMTZ with Dhanush Healthcare Systems.
The day concluded with the ceremonial flag-off of Varex Detector exports, showcasing India’s growing capacity to manufacture and supply advanced diagnostic equipment globally.
