Vice Admiral K. Srinivas Takes Charge as DG Naval Projects, Visakhapatnam
Vice Admiral K. Srinivas has taken charge as Director General Naval Projects, Visakhapatnam, after completing his tenure as Admiral Superintendent of the Naval Dockyard here.
Commissioned into the Indian Navy on January 1, 1990, Vice Admiral Srinivas is an alumnus of Sainik School, Korukonda, and the National Defence Academy. Over a career spanning more than three decades, he has served both at sea and ashore in key operational and technical roles.
He served onboard the aircraft carrier INS Viraat and later as Warship Production Superintendent at Severodvinsk, Russia, where he oversaw the refit and modernisation of INS Vikramaditya.
The Flag Officer has held several important staff positions, including Chief Staff Officer (Engineering) at Western Naval Command, Principal Director of Aircraft Carrier Projects, and Principal Director of Fleet Maintenance at Naval Headquarters, New Delhi. He also commanded the premier engineering training establishment INS Shivaji at Lonavla.
A graduate of the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, the Naval War College, Karanja, and the National Defence College, New Delhi, Vice Admiral Srinivas has held a series of key appointments at the Flag rank.
He earlier served as Assistant Chief of Materiel (Modernisation) and Director General Naval Trials and Acceptance Authority (DG NATAA), followed by a tenure as Assistant Chief of Materiel (Dockyard and Refit) before assuming charge as Admiral Superintendent, Naval Dockyard, Visakhapatnam.
