Visakhapatnam Gears Up for National e-Governance Conference

Bhaskar Katamneni, Secretary of IT, Electronics, and Communications for Andhra Pradesh, has called for seamless collaboration among officials to ensure the success of the upcoming National e-Governance Conference. At a review meeting held at the Collectorate, Katamneni emphasized the importance of the event in enhancing Visakhapatnam’s image as a clean, safe, and tourist-friendly city.

Scheduled for September 22-23, the two-day conference will feature participation from top dignitaries, including the Union Minister, the State Chief Minister, the Deputy Chief Minister, the IT Minister, and senior officials from across the country. Along with thought leaders and experts, the event is expected to draw over 1,000 participants.

Katamneni highlighted the significance of hosting such a prestigious event, which will contribute to the city’s growth and reputation. The state government aims to attract more national-level events in the future. Key arrangements include tourist visits for delegates, extra registration counters at the venue, and hoardings across major city points, such as the airport and railway stations.

Medical teams, modern facilities, and ambulances will be stationed at the Novotel Hotel, ensuring the safety and comfort of participants. Plans for continuous power supply, clear travel routes, and liaison officers have also been put in place to streamline operations.

District Collector M.N. Harendhira Prasad shared the committee structures for managing logistics, while officials reviewed the progress of preparations. With careful planning, the event aims to position Visakhapatnam as a key hub for national conferences, boosting infrastructure and tourism in the region.
