Visakhapatnam Prepares for 28th National Conference on e-Governance

Visakhapatnam is set to host the 28th National Conference on e-Governance (NCEG) on September 22 and 23. District Collector M.N. Harendhira Prasad has instructed officials to ensure all arrangements are in place for the two-day event at Novotel Hotel.

The conference will feature six plenary sessions and six breakout discussions on key themes, including Viksit Bharat, Civil Services, and Digital Transformation. Around 1,000 delegates, including IT professionals, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, and Union and State IT Ministers, are expected to participate.

To manage the event, 13 main committees and 10 sub-committees have been set up. The organising committee is led by Joint Collector K. Mayur Ashok, GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg, and VMRDA Commissioner K.S. Vishwanathan. Police Commissioner Shankhabrata Bagchi will oversee security, and officials from the Union government will also be involved.

Collector Prasad highlighted city beautification, sanitation, and publicity. Hoardings and plexiglass displays will be placed at the airport, railway station, and other key locations. Help desks will guide visitors at transit points and hotels. The venue will have medical teams, an advanced ambulance, uninterrupted power supply, and backup systems.

He also underlined the importance of monitoring the public address system, fire safety, and electrical infrastructure, and asked officials to take precautions during cultural programmes and the gala dinner. Liaison officers were instructed to remain vigilant to ensure smooth coordination.

The review meeting was attended by VMRDA Commissioner K.S. Vishwanathan, Joint Collector K. Mayur Ashok, GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg, DCP (Administration) Krishnakanth Patil, DRO Bhavani Shankar, Bhimili RDO Sangeetha Madhur, Deputy Collectors, and other senior officials.
