VMRDA clears Rs 90-crore tourism project at Rushikonda
Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) has greenlit a Rs 90-crore public-private partnership initiative for a new tourism and leisure hub named “Vizag Experience and Virtual Reality Arena with 3-Star Hotel” on 2.82 acres at Rushikonda, targeting completion in three years.
VMRDA chairperson M. V. Pranav Gopal and Commissioner N. Tej Bharath announced that the project will bring immersive entertainment options, including a 360-degree theater, mixed-reality escape rooms, themed performances, virtual time-travel setups, a VR gaming area, and an aquarium.
The site will also feature leisure amenities such as an app-based drive-in food zone, various cafés, a food court, upscale dining options, and a boutique 3-star hotel to improve visitor experiences.
With the Letter of Acceptance issued to the chosen developer, construction can now start, positioning the complex as a key draw for locals and tourists to boost Visakhapatnam’s profile as a prime coastal getaway.
