VMRDA launches smart ticketing app to digitalise city tourism
The Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) is taking a major step towards digitalising the city’s tourism services, VMRDA Chairperson M. V. Pranav Gopal announced on Saturday.
The authority launched the VISTA (VMRDA Integrated Smart Ticketing Application), designed to provide a seamless experience for visitors to parks, museums, and other tourist destinations under its management. The app aims to eliminate long queues and procedural delays by enabling online bookings, ensuring faster and more efficient services for both residents and tourists.
Mr. Pranav Gopal said VISTA goes beyond ticketing, offering navigation maps, real-time updates, booking history, feedback options, and visit scheduling to help users plan their trips effectively.
The Chairperson noted that this initiative is part of a broader effort to make Visakhapatnam’s tourism infrastructure more accessible, user-friendly, and technology-driven. Officials have been instructed to conduct an extensive awareness campaign to ensure maximum reach, and tourists and locals are encouraged to download and use the app for a smoother, smarter tourism experience.
