SS Rajamouli unveils Mahesh Babu’s ‘Globe Trotter’ on actor’s 50th birthday

Marking superstar Mahesh Babu’s 50th birthday, filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli on Saturday revealed the title of his much-anticipated action drama — Globe Trotter — along with a gritty first-look poster. The RRR director also confirmed that the film’s first official reveal is slated for November 2025.

Sharing the poster on X, Rajamouli wrote, “The First Reveal in November 2025… #GlobeTrotter”. The intense image shows a close-up of a man’s blood-soaked chest, dressed in a brown shirt, with a rudraksha mala around his neck — setting a raw and rugged tone for the film.

In a heartfelt note to fans, Rajamouli said, “Dear cinema lovers in India and around the world, as well as fans of Mahesh, it has been a while since we began shooting, and we appreciate your eagerness to know about the film. However, the story and scope of this film are so vast that I feel mere pictures or press conferences cannot do it justice. We are currently working on something to showcase the essence, depth, and immersive world we are creating. This will be unveiled in November 2025, and we are trying to make it a NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN reveal. Thank you all for your patience.”

Adding to the excitement, the film will feature Priyanka Chopra Jonas alongside Mahesh Babu, marking her return to Indian cinema after 2019’s The Sky is Pink. The actor was last seen internationally in Prime Video’s action drama Heads of State, co-starring John Cena and Idris Elba.

Globe Trotter went on floors in April 2025, with filming taking place in exotic locales including Kenya and Andhra Pradesh’s Borra Caves. The scale and international backdrop hint at an ambitious storyline that spans continents.

On the professional front, Mahesh Babu was last seen in Trivikram Srinivas’s Guntur Kaaram (2024) alongside Sreeleela, Meenakshi Chaudhary, and Prakash Raj. The film, his 28th, featured music by Thaman S and cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa. He also lent his voice to Mufasa in the Telugu version of Disney’s animated film Mufasa: The Lion King.

With Rajamouli at the helm and an A-list cast on board, Globe Trotter is already shaping up to be one of the most talked-about Indian films in the global cinema circuit — and fans now have November 2025 circled on their calendars.
