City police step up security ahead of CII Partnership Summit

City on High Alert Ahead of CII Partnership Summit

Visakhapatnam is preparing to host the international CII Partnership Summit on November 14 and 15. Over 2,300 police personnel, including senior officers, have been deployed across key locations to provide security for delegates, dignitaries, and residents.

State DGP Harish Kumar Gupta and City Police Commissioner Dr. Shankhabrata Bagchi inspected the Command and Control Room on Thursday to review the arrangements. The room monitors the conference venue and other key locations using drones, CCTV cameras, and body-worn cameras.

Police teams are conducting regular inspections of hotels, guesthouses, and resorts. Sniffer dog squads and bomb detection units are deployed at Andhra University Engineering College grounds, helipads, and hotels hosting delegates. Roads used by VIPs and delegates are monitored by ASC and ROP teams.

The security setup is divided into multiple sections, each supervised by senior officers. Pickets and guards are stationed at key points, and vehicles are checked across the city. The Astra app has been deployed to manage traffic, while a new mobile app helps delegates reach the venue.

Authorities have asked residents to cooperate to ensure a safe and smooth summit. With security measures in place, the city is ready to host the international event.
