Andhra Pradesh Targets $500 Billion Investment, 5 Million Jobs
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday set ambitious targets for the state, saying it could attract $500 billion in investments over the next three years while generating employment for five million young people. He also announced that the government would soon start opening escrow accounts to release incentives for investors.
Delivering the keynote address at the inaugural session of the CII Partnership Summit-2025, Mr. Naidu said Andhra Pradesh could bring in $20 billion in investment over the next 18 months. “We have introduced policies to mobilise more investments, focusing on poverty eradication and job creation,” he added.
The Chief Minister highlighted the state’s natural resources and long coastline, calling Andhra Pradesh a gateway for investments across multiple sectors. Visakhapatnam, he said, is set to become a preferred destination for IT companies. He also offered land for a world-class convention centre, to be developed by the India Trade Promotion Organisation, modelled on Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
Mr. Naidu said the state government had adopted “Speed of Doing Business” as a key tool to attract investment. Efforts are underway to establish electronics, aerospace, space, semiconductor, and defence corridors.
He further noted that Andhra Pradesh holds advantages that other states do not, and highlighted abundant opportunities in deep tech, tourism, logistics, and healthcare.
