Sudha Murty to Attend AU WAVES-2025 on December 13

Andhra University Alumni Association chairman K. V. V. Rao announced that the AU alumni meet, WAVES-2025, will be held on December 13 at the AU Convention Centre on Beach Road.

Rajya Sabha MP Sudha Murty, founder chairperson of the Infosys Foundation and Murthy Trust, will attend as the chief guest. The poster for the annual event was released on Tuesday. Department-level reunions will be held in the morning, followed by the main programme from 3 p.m.

Rao told reporters that this year’s theme, Women Empowerment, Promise for the Future, highlights the university’s priorities as it approaches its centenary year. He said Sudha Murty represents the spirit of women’s empowerment. GMR Group chief and association founder chairman G. M. Rao will also join the event. With thousands of alumni already registered, a large screen will be set up outside the venue for public viewing.

According to AU Vice-Chancellor Prof. G. P. Raja Sekhar, Sudha Murty will pay floral tributes to the statue of founding vice-chancellor Cattamanchi Ramalinga Reddy in the afternoon. He said the university is extending full support to the meet and urged women students to participate.

Prof. Raja Sekhar said the objective of WAVES-2025 is to bring together AU alumni from across the globe and involve them in the university’s progress. Plans for the 2026 centenary celebrations will also be presented at the event.

Association vice-chairman K. Kumar Raja, general secretary Akula Chandrasekhar, and EC members S. K. E. Apparao, Prof. B. Mohan Venkata Ram and Y. V. Anuradha were present.
