Ethical living key to success, says Sudha Murty at AU alumni meet

Rajya Sabha MP and founder chairperson of the Infosys Foundation, Sudha Murty, on Saturday said that leading an ethical life should be the ultimate goal of every individual, particularly students. She stressed that this could be achieved through self-discipline and self-reliance, which in turn require honest and sustained hard work.

Ms. Murty was addressing students and alumni of Andhra University as the chief guest at the University Alumni Meet, ‘Waves-2025’, held at the AU Convention Centre here on Saturday (December 13, 2025). Drawing from personal experiences and real-life anecdotes, she delivered inspiring messages and encouraged students to remain rooted in values while pursuing success. She later participated in an interactive question-and-answer session.

GMR Group Chairman and Andhra University alumnus Grandhi Mallikarjuna Rao said the country’s growth depended on several factors, including the choices made by students during their college and university years. He advised them to take inspiration from accomplished personalities such as Ms. Sudha Murty to achieve their goals.

Vice-Chancellor Raja Sekhar outlined the university’s plans for its forthcoming centenary celebrations and sought the support of the Infosys Foundation. Alumni Association chairman K.V. Rao spoke on the evolution and significance of the alumni meet.

Earlier, cultural programmes presented by students, including foreign students, enthralled the audience. In the morning, various university departments organised reunion meetings with former students, offering a platform to relive memories of their campus days. More than 10,000 alumni registered for the meet, with participation both in person and online.
