From hills to beaches, Andhra Pradesh sets the stage for winter weddings

As travel costs rise and families grow older, an increasing number of couples are opting to celebrate their weddings close to home. Across Andhra Pradesh, a range of picturesque locations is fast emerging as the preferred backdrop for winter ceremonies, offering a blend of natural beauty, reliable hospitality and easy accessibility.

Heritage towns such as Vizianagaram and Amaravati are drawing brides and grooms who crave traditional ambience coupled with architectural grandeur. “The historic sites give a sense of cultural depth that you can’t replicate elsewhere,” says wedding planner V. Srinivas of Visakhapatnam. “Couples want meaningful settings without the hassle of long‑distance travel, especially when elderly relatives are involved.”

Riverfront venues are adding another layer of charm. The banks of the Godavari near Rajamahendravaram and the Krishna River at Vijayawada provide serene settings that suit both grand celebrations and intimate family gatherings. The gentle flow of water and open spaces make these spots ideal for evening receptions and photo sessions.

The state’s hill districts are also experiencing a surge in demand. Araku Valley, Lambasingi and Paderu, with their cool climate, mist‑killed mornings and lush landscapes, have become hot picks for couples seeking a relaxed, multi‑day affair. “Winter weddings in the hills have a distinct charm,” notes hospitality consultant K. Anuradha. “Pleasant weather and improved resort infrastructure now make décor, catering and guest accommodation hassle‑free.”

Quieter alternatives such as Chintapalli and Ananthagiri are gaining traction as resort‑style venues, perfect for small, extended celebrations spread over two or three days. Their tranquil environment appeals to couples looking for a more personal experience.

Coastal destinations continue to hold their own during the winter months. Rushikonda, Bheemili, Suryalanka and Mypadu offer moderate temperatures and open‑air beachfront settings, ideal for evening receptions that blend tradition with leisure. The sea breeze and sunset vistas add a romantic touch that many couples find irresistible.

Hoteliers report a noticeable shift in guest preferences. “Families are seeking venues that can accommodate both simple rituals and larger receptions without inflating costs or causing travel strain,” says a senior hotel executive in Visakhapatnam. “Flexibility and convenience are now as important as aesthetics.”

With ongoing improvements in road connectivity, accommodation options and professional event services, Andhra Pradesh is steadily positioning itself as a versatile and accessible winter wedding destination. Couples can now enjoy a dreamy celebration close to home, surrounded by the state’s diverse landscapes and warm hospitality.
