‘Operation Vajraprahar’: Police Launch Major Cordon and Search in Killoguda

Operation Vajraprahar: Killoguda Under Police Cordon

In a bid to crack down on ganja-related activities, police conducted a major cordon and search operation in Killoguda village of Dumbriguda mandal on Sunday under ‘Operation Vajraprahar’, following directions from Superintendent of Police Amit Bardar.

The operation was led by Circle Inspector of Araku Police Station L. Himagiri and Dumbriguda sub-inspector L. Suresh, with assistance from APSP personnel and drone surveillance to monitor suspicious movements.

Police teams carried out detailed searches of 82 houses in the village. Records of vehicles with previous suspicious activity were verified, and special attention was given to the residences of individuals earlier involved in ganja-related offences. No arrests were immediately reported, but officials said evidence of illegal activities would be thoroughly examined.

Following the operation, an awareness programme was organised involving village elders, youth, and women. Police officials explained the government’s ongoing efforts to tackle narcotics and highlighted strict enforcement measures under the PD Act and NDPS Act. They warned that properties acquired through illegal means would also be seized, and those found violating the law would face severe legal consequences.

Officials also used the meeting to stress road safety, urging young villagers to adhere to traffic rules, wear helmets, and take responsibility for preventing accidents. Residents were encouraged to cooperate with the authorities and report any suspicious activities in their areas.

The operation is part of a continuing effort by the Alluri Sitharama Raju district police to maintain law and order, especially in rural areas, and to ensure community participation in curbing illegal activities.
