Andhra University named nodal centre for Ambedkar Chairs portal
Andhra University has been designated as the National Nodal Centre for the National Portal of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Chairs across the country, according to a release issued on Thursday.
The recognition has been conferred by the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, marking a significant academic and institutional achievement for the university.
With this designation, Andhra University will lead coordination and management of the digital ecosystem for all Dr. Ambedkar Chairs established at universities and institutions nationwide. The initiative aims to strengthen collaboration, improve knowledge sharing, and streamline academic and research activities through a unified national portal.
University officials said the nodal role would also involve monitoring programmes, facilitating communication among various Ambedkar Chairs, and promoting research aligned with the ideals and vision of B. R. Ambedkar.
The announcement assumes added significance as the university prepares to celebrate its 100th Foundation Day. The new responsibility is expected to enhance Andhra University’s academic stature and enable it to play a pivotal role in advancing Dr. Ambedkar’s vision at a national level, the release added.
