TDP intensifies Mahanadu 2026 preparations; venue search underway
TDP Andhra Pradesh president Palla Srinivasa Rao said the party has stepped up preparations for Mahanadu 2026, which will commemorate the birth anniversary of TDP founder N. T. Rama Rao.
As part of the groundwork, Mr. Srinivasa Rao, along with Vizianagaram MP K. Appalanaidu and senior party leaders, undertook an extensive field inspection across several locations in Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts to identify a suitable venue for the large-scale event scheduled for May 28.
The leadership team visited nine potential sites, including Nathavalasa in the Vizianagaram parliamentary constituency, Pydibhimavaram in the Etcherla constituency, Pisinni Road–Pativadapalem in Ranasthalam mandal, and Singavaram in Denkada mandal under the Nellimarla constituency, among others. At each location, they reviewed key logistical factors such as road and transport connectivity, availability of open space, parking infrastructure, entry and exit routes, security arrangements, and the capacity to safely host lakhs of party cadre expected from across the State.
Party leaders said the inspection was aimed at ensuring smooth execution of an event of unprecedented scale, with a special focus on crowd management and basic amenities for participants.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said Mahanadu is not just an organisational event but a symbol of self-respect for the Telugu Desam Party, rooted in the ideals and legacy of NTR. He said the 2026 edition would be planned in a manner that reflects the party’s organisational strength and would aim to set new benchmarks in large-scale political event management.
He added that, under the guidance of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Mahanadu 2026 is expected to be conducted on a significantly larger scale than previous editions. He said the final venue will be announced shortly after a comprehensive evaluation of all inspected sites.
Calling for collective responsibility, Mr. Srinivasa Rao urged party cadre and local leadership to work in close coordination to ensure seamless arrangements. He expressed confidence that Mahanadu 2026 would emerge as a landmark event in the party’s history, reflecting both organisational discipline and mass mobilisation strength.
