TDP Elevates Lokesh as Working President in Major Reshuffle

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Wednesday announced a major organisational reshuffle, elevating IT and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh as the national working president. He has been promoted to the post of national general secretary.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will continue as the party’s national president, according to an official statement.

As part of the changes, the party has reappointed Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao as State president. The announcement also included the reconstitution of the Politburo, along with the national and State committees.

The expanded Politburo, the party’s highest decision-making body, now has 29 members. Key members include Kinjarapu Atchannaidu, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Vangalapudi Anitha, and Gummadi Sandhya Rani.

Nara Lokesh, Palla Srinivasa Rao, and Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu will serve as ex officio members. Gajapathinagaram mandal president Gantyada Sridevi and Mangalagiri cluster in-charge Guttikonda Dhanunjay have also been inducted into the Politburo.

The national committee now has 31 members, while the State committee has been expanded to 185 members. Of these, 122 members belong to weaker sections, including 77 Backward Classes, 25 Scheduled Castes, 7 Scheduled Tribes, and 13 minorities.

The party said Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has emphasised proportional representation across social groups and regions, keeping in view the upcoming delimitation of constituencies and 33 per cent reservation for women.

The TDP further stated that the restructuring also accommodates leaders who could not be assigned nominated government posts. It added that a balance has been maintained between senior and younger leaders, with posts allotted based on loyalty, performance, and experience.
