AP Inter 2026 Results Declared; Girls Lead Across Streams

The State Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) on Wednesday announced the Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE) 2026 results. Over 10.15 lakh students can access their scores on bie.ap.gov.in, the Board said.

In the general stream, 77% of the 4,71,864 first-year students cleared the exam, while the second-year pass percentage stood at 81% among 4,46,537 candidates. In the vocational stream, the pass rate was 61% for first-year and 74% for second-year students.

Girls continued to outperform boys across both years and streams. In first-year general, 81% of girls passed, compared to 72% of boys. In second year, the pass percentage was 85% for girls and 76% for boys. The gap was wider in vocational courses, where 71% of girls cleared the first year against 49% of boys.

Among subject groups, Mathematics, Economics and Commerce (MEC) recorded the highest first-year pass rate at 88%, followed by Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (MPC) at 84%. Commerce, Economics and Civics (CEC) registered the lowest performance at 50%.

District-wise, Krishna district topped in both years. It recorded a 90% pass rate in the first year and 92% in the second year. Guntur and NTR districts followed in the second year with 88% and 87% respectively. Annamayya district reported the lowest pass rates in both years.

The exams were conducted between February 23 and March 24, with over 5.31 lakh first-year and 5.26 lakh second-year students registered — the highest in recent years.

Compared to previous years, the second-year pass percentage showed a marginal improvement, while first-year results remained broadly steady. In 2025, the pass rates were 70% for first year and 83% for second year.

This year’s exams were held under a revised pattern, including the merger of Mathematics papers 1A and 1B, combining Botany and Zoology, and the introduction of more objective-type questions. The changes were aimed at aligning the syllabus with NCERT standards and improving preparation for competitive exams such as JEE and NEET.

Students can apply for recounting or re-verification within 10 days through the official website. Supplementary examination dates will be announced separately. Students failing in more than two subjects will not be eligible for supplementary exams.
