APEPDCL to Hold Workshop on Energy Savings, Demand Response

The Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (APEPDCL) will conduct a two-day workshop on April 17 and 18. It will focus on the “energy, cost savings – demand response” programme. The aim is to improve energy efficiency and strengthen grid sustainability.

The initiative seeks to reduce distribution costs. It also aims to make the power system more resilient across the region.

In addition, APEPDCL is organising the programme with Elements Energy. This startup is incubated at IIT Madras. Senior officials will also take part in the sessions. These include APEPDCL Chairman and Managing Director Prudhvi Tej Immadi and Elements Energy founder Anson Sando. They will explain the programme’s goals and implementation.

Meanwhile, Chief General Manager (Commercial) S Rajababu said the workshop will benefit industrial and commercial consumers. It will help them understand demand response systems. It will also explain implementation methods and cost-saving measures. Moreover, he said the programme will promote energy optimisation and reduce operating expenses.

On April 17, APEPDCL will hold the first session at its corporate office in Visakhapatnam. The session will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will cover high-tension consumers from Visakhapatnam, Anakapalle, ASR Paderu, Vizianagaram, Parvathipuram Manyam, and Srikakulam districts.

Similarly, the second session will take place on April 18. It will be held at the Electricity Office in Rajamahendravaram. It will serve consumers from East Godavari, West Godavari, Kakinada, Ambedkar Konaseema, and Eluru districts.

Overall, officials said the programme will encourage large consumers to adopt energy-efficient practices. As a result, it will support Andhra Pradesh’s goal of sustainable power management.
