Tirupati Launches Integrated Command Centre for Smart City Monitoring

Tirupati took a major step towards smart urban governance on Friday. The city inaugurated its Integrated Command and Control Centre at the Kacchapi auditorium. It will monitor civic services and security operations in real time.

The Tirupati Smart City Corporation Limited (TSCCL) developed the facility at a cost of ₹120 crore. NEC and Keltron provided technical support. The project aims to improve coordination between departments.

District Collector and MCT Special Officer S. Venkateswar inaugurated the centre. MLA Arani Srinivasulu, SP L. Subbarayudu, and MCT Commissioner N. Mourya attended the event.

Officials said the system will integrate multiple departments. It will manage traffic, sanitation, festival crowds, and emergency response. In addition, it will help police respond faster to crimes such as chain snatching, child abduction, and vehicle theft.

Furthermore, the platform follows smart city models already implemented in Visakhapatnam and Kakinada. It will strengthen real-time decision-making across agencies.

SP Subbarayudu said the centre will link with a similar system in Tirumala within two months. As a result, both locations will have coordinated monitoring.

MCT Commissioner Mourya said the centre will receive live feeds from 400 CCTV cameras. These cameras are installed across 135 locations in Tirupati. Thus, the city will have continuous surveillance coverage.

Finally, officials and public representatives attended the inauguration, including A.P. Handicrafts Development Corporation Chairman P. Hariprasad, Nayee Brahmin Corporation Chairman Rudrakoti Sadasivam, and former Deputy Mayor R. C. Munikrishna.
