Scoot to Operate Visakhapatnam Flights from Bhogapuram Airport from July 8

Scoot to Shift Vizag Flights to Bhogapuram Airport on July 8

Singapore-based low-cost carrier Scoot has announced that all its flights to and from Visakhapatnam will operate from the upcoming Alluri Sitharama Raju International Airport from July 8, 2026, making it one of the first international airlines to shift operations to the new airport.

In a communication issued to trade partners and travel agents, the airline stated that its operations would be shifted to Terminal 1 of the Bhogapuram airport while retaining the existing airport code “VTZ” for bookings and flight operations.

Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, currently operates international services between Visakhapatnam and Singapore, offering onward connectivity to several destinations across Southeast Asia and other regions.

The airline informed passengers that the new airport is located around 50 km from Visakhapatnam city and advised travellers to arrive at least 120 minutes before departure to complete check-in and security formalities smoothly.

According to the communication, check-in counters at the new terminal will open two and a half hours before the scheduled departure time. Scoot has also instructed trade partners to inform passengers with existing bookings about the airport change before June 10 to avoid confusion during the transition.

The announcement comes ahead of the expected commencement of commercial operations at the Bhogapuram International Airport, which is being developed as a major aviation hub for north Andhra Pradesh. Aviation industry sources said more domestic and international airlines are likely to gradually shift their operations to the new airport after services officially begin.

The new airport is expected to enhance international connectivity for Visakhapatnam and neighbouring districts while easing congestion at the existing city airport.
