DRM cycles to office on e-bike, urges staff to adopt green mobility

Marking World Cycling Day, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Visakhapatnam Division, Lalit Bohra, commuted from his residence to the Divisional Office on an e-bicycle on Tuesday, setting an example to promote eco-friendly transportation and sustainable living practices.

The initiative aimed to encourage the adoption of non-polluting and energy-efficient modes of travel in daily life. His gesture drew attention within the railway establishment and highlighted the role of individual choices in addressing environmental concerns.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Bohra stressed the need to adopt environmentally responsible habits in everyday life. He urged railway officials and employees to actively support green initiatives and contribute to reducing carbon emissions, in view of the growing challenge of climate change and global warming.

He further observed that collective participation within large organisations such as Indian Railways could significantly strengthen efforts towards sustainability and environmental conservation.

Officials present on the occasion appreciated the initiative, noting that such demonstrations help raise awareness on green mobility and align with Indian Railways’ broader focus on energy efficiency and sustainable practices.
