CISF chief reviews security preparedness at key installations in Visakhapatnam
Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Director General Praveer Ranjan reviewed security arrangements and operational preparedness at the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and Visakhapatnam Port during his two-day visit to the city on August 15 and 16.
At the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Mr. Ranjan held discussions with RINL Chairman and Managing Director M.N.V.S. Prabhakar, senior management officials and CISF personnel on measures to strengthen the security and protection of the strategic industrial installation.
At the Visakhapatnam Port, the CISF chief inspected key security installations and reviewed security arrangements, training and operational preparedness. He also held discussions with Visakhapatnam Port Authority Chairman Jasmeet Singh Bindra, IRTS, and Deputy Chairperson Roshni Aparanji Korati, IAS, on port security and coordination between the CISF and the Port Authority.
Addressing a Combined Sainik Sammelan attended by personnel of CISF units based in Visakhapatnam, Mr. Ranjan stressed the need for futuristic security strategies, technological upgrades and enhanced operational preparedness. He also underscored the importance of discipline and the physical and mental well-being of personnel.
The CISF Director General highlighted the growing contribution of women to the force and appreciated the achievements of the first batch of women commandos trained at the CISF 10th Reserve Battalion.
He also commended the performance of the CISF women’s contingent at the recently concluded Commonwealth Games and Police Games.
