CM orders land bank portal for unused government land
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed the Revenue Department to create a structured land bank portal containing details of unused government land across Andhra Pradesh.
Reviewing the Action Taken Reports at the eighth District Collectors’ Conference here on Thursday, Mr. Naidu directed officials to identify government land lying unused for years across departments and bring it under a common land bank.
The portal should provide details district-wise and department-wise and enable government departments to identify and obtain land for their projects, he said.
Mr. Naidu said the ongoing resurvey would bring greater clarity on government land. He directed officials to identify land for industrial and development projects in advance so that land availability did not delay projects.
Focus on time-bound action
The Chief Minister asked collectors and department heads to prepare action calendars and adhere to deadlines. Collectors should take a comprehensive view of development programmes and resolve inter-departmental issues, he said.
He asked them to take decisions instead of merely reporting problems and stressed the need for proactive governance.
Mr. Naidu said he planned his programmes three months in advance, including regular SIPB and Cabinet meetings, the Collectors’ Conference and field visits. He asked collectors to plan their work similarly.
Welfare and development
Mr. Naidu directed officials to issue orders extending benefits available to Scheduled Caste communities to Budaga Jangams, pending a decision on their demand for SC status.
He asked officials to link skill development programmes with industries and complete curriculum and equipment-related work within 90 days.
The Chief Minister directed officials to expedite the construction of sanctioned houses and implement additional housing in phases. He said another 1.5 lakh houses were likely to be sanctioned for Andhra Pradesh.
In view of El Niño conditions, he asked officials to expedite emergency drinking water works.
He also directed officials to prepare 20 crore seeds and saplings ahead of the plantation season to achieve the target of 50% green cover, while promoting low-water-consuming plants and prioritising water conservation measures.
Officials were also asked to encourage pre-monsoon dry sowing and hold discussions with the Centre on establishing 905 smart kitchens in the State.
