Hackhers 2.0 hackathon concludes at Vignan’s Institute with 824 participants
Hackhers 2.0, a 24-hour hackathon organised by Vignan’s Institute of Engineering for Women as part of TECHRITZ 2K26, concluded on Saturday. The event saw 824 students from various engineering institutions participate, and the winning teams received prizes worth ₹30,000.
Organised by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in association with the Google Developer Groups and Coding Ninjas clubs, the event was sponsored by JJH Global Solutions and Study Connect.
Participants developed solutions in areas such as Agentic AI, cybercrime, blockchain, agriculture, disaster management, smart education and MedTech. A key highlight was the participation of all-girl teams, who worked through the 24-hour challenge.
Dr. G. Lakshmeswari, professor at GITAM University, attended the valedictory ceremony as chief guest. Institute principal Dr. B. Arundhati said that hackathons encourage innovation, problem-solving and industry readiness. Head of the CSE department, Dr. P. Vijaya Bharati, stressed the importance of applying classroom learning to real-world challenges.
Team Welltricks, led by S. Supritha of VR Siddhartha Engineering College, Vijayawada, won the first prize. Team AgentHive, led by Ch. Madhulatha of the host institution, secured the second prize, while Team Avengers Assemble, also from the host institute, won the third prize for its project on evidence management and crime prediction.
The organisers thanked the sponsors, faculty, student volunteers and parents for their support.
