Collector pushes household entrepreneurship drive

District Collector N. Prabhakar Reddy on Friday directed officials to ensure that every family in every village receives some financial assistance, in addition to welfare benefits, to support steady development.

The Collector, along with Joint Collector C. Yashwanth Kumar Reddy and Sub-Collector Pawar Swapnil Jagannath, attended the Special Public Grievance Redressal Forum (PGRS) in Seethampeta and received petitions from 91 applicants. He also reviewed development works in tribal areas and measures to improve living standards.

Dr. Prabhakar Reddy said the government aims to promote household-level entrepreneurship. He asked officials to focus not only on implementing schemes but also on identifying family needs and steps to increase annual incomes.

He directed officials to prepare field-level plans for livelihood opportunities and warned against delays in village works. Pending works should be completed quickly, he said, adding that grievances must be addressed promptly. Lower-level staff were asked to stay accessible to the public.

On health, the Collector instructed strict implementation of the weekly ‘Friday–Dry Day’ programme to prevent seasonal diseases and stressed mosquito control and sanitation awareness.

He also called for regular monitoring of anganwadi services and said there should be no delay in registration and distribution of NCPD (Nutrition and Child Progress) cards. He asked officials to ensure nutrition support for pregnant women, lactating mothers, and children.
