DM&HO Orders Registration of All Clinical Establishments

The District Medical and Health Officer (DM&HO), Visakhapatnam, has directed all hospitals, clinics, diagnostic laboratories, scanning centres, and fertility centres operating in the district to register under the Clinical Establishments Act, 2002, warning that legal action will be initiated against unregistered establishments.

In a statement, DM&HO Dr. P. Jagadeeswara Rao said the directive applies to all healthcare facilities operating in both urban and rural areas of Visakhapatnam district. He said registration with the Office of the District Medical and Health Officer through the online portal is mandatory under the Clinical Establishments Act, 2002.

He warned that hospitals, clinics, diagnostic laboratories, scanning centres, fertility centres, and other clinical establishments operating without valid registration would face legal action under the provisions of the Act.

Dr. Jagadeeswara Rao also urged healthcare facilities that have not yet registered, or whose registrations have expired, to complete the registration or renewal process without delay. Hospitals, clinics, diagnostic laboratories, and fertility centres can register or renew their registration through the State government’s Clinical Establishments portal, while scanning centres must complete the process through the PCPNDT online portal.

He appealed to all eligible healthcare establishments to comply with the registration requirements at the earliest to avoid legal action.
