Govt schools emerging as preferred choice: MP M Sribharat
Visakhapatnam MP M Sribharat has said the Andhra Pradesh government is working to strengthen public education and develop government schools on par with private and corporate institutions, to make them the preferred choice for parents and students.
Speaking at the “Yuva Pratibhavanthula Mukhamukhi” interactive programme held at the Port Sagarmala Auditorium in Visakhapatnam, Mr. Sribharat congratulated students from government schools who secured high marks in this year’s Class 10 public examinations.
The MP said the results reflected the potential of students studying in the public education system and urged them to treat academic success as a stepping stone towards higher education and long-term career goals.
He advised students to develop analytical thinking, identify their interests at an early stage, and focus on building practical skills alongside academic learning. Despite rapid technological advancements, he said, human intelligence and independent thinking would continue to remain important. He stressed the need for originality, discipline, and sustained hard work to achieve success.
Referring to the “100-Day Action Plan” introduced for Class 10 students under the leadership of Education Minister Nara Lokesh, Mr. Sribharat said the initiative had produced encouraging results.
District Education Officer Prem Kumar said that 656 students from 108 government schools across Visakhapatnam district had secured 585 marks and above in the examinations.
He said initiatives such as the LEAP App, Assessment Booklets, daily tests, and multiple subject-wise examinations had helped students gain a better understanding of their subjects and contributed significantly to the improved results this year.
Among those present at the programme were Jana Sena North Constituency in-charge Pasupuleti Ushakiran, BJP North Constituency office in-charge Deepika, Mandal Education Officers, headmasters, teachers, parents, and students.
