IHCL Signs Vivanta Hotel at Bhogapuram Airport
The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has signed an agreement to establish a Vivanta hotel at the forthcoming Bhogapuram International Airport in Andhra Pradesh, underlining the hospitality group’s continued push to strengthen its footprint across southern India.
The greenfield development, which will come up alongside the airport’s terminal building, will comprise 165 rooms and is designed to address the rising demand from corporate travellers, MICE delegations, and transit passengers moving through the Visakhapatnam–Bheemili–Bhogapuram growth corridor.
Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate and Development, IHCL, told The Coastal Times that Bhogapuram International Airport in Vizianagaram district was well-positioned to develop into a major aviation hub.
She noted that robust infrastructure investments and state-driven tourism initiatives had unlocked considerable opportunity in the area, and that the hotel’s placement would allow it to effectively serve business, conferencing, and transit needs.
On the dining and leisure front, the hotel will host Mynt, a restaurant offering all-day dining, alongside Wink, a bar, and Swirl, a deli. Guests will also have access to a swimming pool and a well-appointed gymnasium. For events, the property will provide a banqueting space of over 4,000 square feet, suitable for corporate gatherings as well as social functions.
The Bhogapuram signing takes IHCL’s total hotel count in Andhra Pradesh to nine, with four of those properties still in the pipeline.
