Sankar Foundation marks founder’s birth anniversary

Sankar Foundation marked the 95th birth anniversary of its founder, late Atmakuri Sankar Rao, with a Founder’s Day celebration and Partners’ Meet here on Wednesday.

The event brought together trustees, corporate partners, doctors and employees to recognise the Foundation’s work in eye care and its efforts to reduce avoidable blindness through treatment and outreach programmes.

M Ramdas, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, urged employees to maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct and adopt best practices to strengthen the Foundation’s services. He also stressed the importance of teamwork in achieving sustainable growth.

Managing Trustee and CEO A. Krishna Kumar thanked the Foundation’s corporate partners for their continued support and appreciated the contribution of doctors, paramedical staff and outreach teams to its clinical and community services.

Mr. Krishna Kumar, along with Usha Atmakuri, trustees, clinical heads and senior officials, paid floral tributes to Atmakuri Sankar Rao by garlanding his statue.

Representatives of L&T, INOX Air Products, GAIL and LIC were felicitated for their association with the Foundation. Certificates of recognition and mementos were presented to key supporters.

Heads of the Glaucoma, Retina, Orbit and Paediatrics departments presented an overview of clinical achievements, technological developments and advances in specialised eye care.
