SCoR vigilance seminar warns railway job aspirants against fraudsters
South Coast Railway (SCoR) warned railway job aspirants against touts and fraudsters promising appointments in exchange for money, while stressing the need for greater transparency and ethical conduct among its employees.
The warning was issued at a high-level vigilance seminar held at the SCoR headquarters here on Thursday, which focused on preventing corruption, strengthening procedural awareness and promoting accountability in public service.
SCoR General Manager Sandeep Mathur chaired the seminar, which was coordinated by Senior Deputy General Manager and Chief Vigilance Officer Ashish Mehrothra. Principal heads of departments, divisional railway managers and senior officials attended the meeting.
Mr Mathur said greater administrative awareness was an important safeguard against corruption. He said the vigilance wing played an advisory role by helping railway personnel understand procedures and avoid inadvertent lapses.
The seminar discussed Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) guidelines and measures aimed at strengthening accountability in railway administration.
Mr Mehrothra called upon employees to uphold integrity and foster an ethical work culture across all levels of the organisation.
Officials specifically cautioned job aspirants against fraudulent recruitment claims. They reiterated that appointments in Indian Railways are made only through authorised Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) and Railway Recruitment Cells (RRCs).
Candidates were advised not to deal with touts, intermediaries or individuals claiming to secure railway jobs through monetary payments or unofficial channels. Officials urged aspirants to follow only authorised recruitment procedures and rely on official notifications.
