Medical college sanctioned for Parvathipuram: Minister Sandhya Rani

Minister for women and child welfare Gummidi Sandhya Rani  on Friday announced that the government had sanctioned a medical college for Parvathipuram. She added that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had initiated steps to complete the pending Kurupam Engineering College.

Speaking at Teachers’ Day celebrations at the Lions Club, Ms. Sandhya Rani said teaching was a profession of great satisfaction as teachers shaped students into “golden nuggets.” She cautioned against excessive use of gadgets by children and urged teachers to impart values alongside academics. She also launched the “No Drugs, Bro” campaign and said new teachers would be recruited through the Mega DSC.

Kurupam MLA Thoyaka Jagadeeswari ⁨called on teachers to instil good habits in students, while Parvathipuram MLA Bonela Vijaya Chandra described teaching as a noble profession. District Collector A. Shyam Prasad lauded the State for securing first rank in Class X results and 10th position in the national learning level survey.

On the occasion, the Minister and officials released the district magazine Bala Velugu, felicitated best teachers, and inspected a science exhibition.
