AP Begins Direct Payouts for Google Data Centre Land

The Andhra Pradesh government is set to begin direct compensation to farmers whose land is being acquired for the proposed Google Data Centre in Tarluwada village, Anandapuram mandal. Payments will start on Saturday, confirmed Bheemili MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao.

Mr. Srinivasa Rao said the land acquisition process is moving fast, with more than 60 percent of farmers submitting their consent forms. To ensure fair compensation, the government has increased the rate from Rs 17 lakh to Rs 20 lakh per acre.

Officials confirmed that around 308.657 acres will be transferred to Google. The MLA, together with District Collector M.N. Harendira Prasad, met farmers personally to explain the updated compensation package.

Compensation for encroachers not in official records has risen from Rs 8.5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh per acre. Mr. Srinivasa Rao warned farmers against intermediaries offering inflated deals.

Tarluwada sarpanch B.R.B. Naidu revealed brokers were promising Rs 1.15 crore per acre in cash, plus developed plots worth Rs 55 lakh for two acres, claiming half the payment upfront. Some farmers reported that cases on land acquisition were filed without their consent.

Revenue Divisional Officer Sangeet Madhur confirmed a police complaint has been lodged. The MLA instructed Anandapuram Circle Inspector Vasu Naidu to take strict action against such middlemen.

Farmers are also requesting an increase in housing land allocation from 3 cents to 5 cents and support for those who previously contributed land for educational and skill development projects.

Mr. Srinivasa Rao assured farmers that their concerns will be conveyed directly to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, showing the government’s commitment to addressing their needs.
