A.P. leads in proposed investments, says T.G. Bharath

Andhra Pradesh has emerged as a preferred destination for investments, Industries and Commerce Minister T.G. Bharath said on Monday.

Referring to a Bank of Baroda report, the Minister said the State accounted for 25.30 per cent of total proposed investments in the first nine months of the 2025–26 financial year. He attributed the performance to the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and IT Minister Nara Lokesh.

Mr. Bharath said the government had been making sustained efforts to attract investments since assuming office, with a focus on generating employment for 20 lakh youth across the State. He said investor confidence had improved due to policy clarity and stable governance.

He said investors were once again viewing Andhra Pradesh as a reliable investment destination, adding that policies of the previous government had adversely affected investor sentiment. The present administration, he said, had restored confidence.

The Minister said the recent CII Partnership Summit resulted in investment proposals worth ₹13 lakh crore and that the government was now working on grounding these projects. He said Mr. Lokesh played a key role in facilitating ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel’s proposed ₹1.35 lakh crore investment.

Mr. Bharath said Google’s investment announcement had further strengthened investor interest in the State. He added that faster approvals and investor-friendly policies had improved the ease of doing business.

He said the Chief Minister was focusing on balanced regional development while continuing welfare schemes, and added that the government was implementing its election promises.
