GITAM School of Law, IIULER-Goa ink pact for academic collaboration

GITAM Deemed to be University has entered into an MoU with the India International University of Legal Education and Research (IIULER), Goa, run by the Bar Council of India Trust, to promote academic and research collaboration in legal education.

The MoU was exchanged on Friday by GITAM In-Charge Registrar Sivakumar Mathada and IIULER Vice-Chancellor Prof. R. Venkata Rao in the presence of GITAM Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Y. Gouthama Rao.

The agreement provides for collaboration in teaching, research, consultancy and faculty development. The institutions will undertake joint research projects and continuing education programmes and exchange academic materials and publications.

They will also collaborate on symposia, international conferences, workshops and expert meetings.

Prof. Gouthama Rao said the partnership would provide new academic opportunities and support efforts to strengthen legal education in accordance with the National Education Policy.

Prof. Venkata Rao said the collaboration would enable the two institutions to work together in key areas of legal education and research.

GITAM School of Law Director Dr. Moumita Sen said the MoU would help build sustained academic collaboration between the institutions.

Judicial aspirants’ centre opened

Prof. Venkata Rao also inaugurated the GITAM Centre for Judicial Aspirants at the School of Law.

Addressing students, Prof. Rao stressed the importance of integrity, honesty and hard work in judicial service. He advised the aspirants to combine legal knowledge with wisdom and a sense of purpose while preparing for judicial careers.

The centre will provide support to students preparing for judicial service examinations.
