Pawan Kalyan Pledges Roads and Development for Tribal Villages

Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan on Saturday said the NDA government has laid 460 km of roads in tribal hamlets across the state over the past 18 months, improving connectivity and access to essential services.

Speaking at the ‘Mana Vuru, Maata Manthi’ programme in Nandigaruvu, Paderu mandal, he said the coalition government is committed to being people-friendly and responsive to grievances. Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar accompanied him.

“The government is ready to listen to and resolve the problems faced by the people. Earlier, citizens feared even voicing their concerns. Now, the administrative machinery reaches the people directly to address their issues,” Mr. Pawan Kalyan said, stressing the reforms in governance that ensure transparency and accountability.

He highlighted that development initiatives are carried out impartially, regardless of whether a community supported the government in elections. “Our government works solely for the welfare of the people, not based on who voted for us,” he added.

As an example, he cited the construction of a road to Nandigaru village, which has only 40 households, at a cost of nearly ₹2 crore. He also emphasized special attention to the challenges faced by pregnant women and patients in remote hilltop villages, stating, “The days of carrying patients in ‘dolis’ are over. With support from the Central government, roads are reaching every tribal village in the Agency area.”

Mr. Pawan Kalyan also criticized the previous government for neglecting the tribal regions and diverting development funds. “Around ₹4,000 crore under the Jal Jeevan Mission was misused. MLAs elected from these areas never visited the villages or listened to the people,” he alleged.

He further addressed concerns about Maoist influence in the region, saying, “Many leaders hesitate to visit remote hilltop villages due to security risks. I do not have such fears. I will go anywhere to serve the people and ensure their issues are resolved.”

During the programme, Mr. Pawan Kalyan interacted with villagers to understand their problems firsthand and immediately directed officials to take action on some of the pressing concerns.

He also assured that the government would look into restoring G.O. No. 3 and take it up with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to ensure that tribal communities continue to benefit from welfare initiatives.
